What a weekend for COTA and for cycling in Bend! The First Annual Bend Bicycle Film Festival was a smash hit - we sold out the Tower Theater and raised $1000 for COTA and Bend Endurance Academy each! COTA gained many new members also. That has to have been one of the biggest cycling parties in Bend ever. Thanks again to organizers Paul Lissette and Bill Warburton for all their efforts. The festival was truly a high quality event thanks to their hard work and caring.
The following day for the 9th Annual Spring Fling was also a record breaker - the largest turnout for a workparty ever with over 140 volunteers in 9 large work crews completing approximately 775 hours of trail work! Impressive. The after party BBQ at Sunnyside Sports was another huge hit with almost 40 new folks joining COTA and one lucky volunteer winning the custom Vulture frameset. We all had a great time meeting new folks and working the trails for the upcoming season.
Thanks to all our event sponsors - 92/7 FM, U.S. Bank, Sunnyside Sports, Cog Wild Bicycle Tours, Pine Mountain Sports, Santa Cruz All-Ride Tour and The Source Weekly. It is you who make these events possible. Please support our sponsors the way they support us, remember what goes around comes around! Thanks sponsors!
Thanks also to all the countless volunteers! It is each of you that demonstrates the strength of COTA and helps us keep the trail scene in Central Oregon as awesome as it is. Also, the all-volunteer COTA Board of Directors is extremely proud and humbled by the support from our community - THANK-YOU!
