I have a question! Is there a way to shuttle whoops? I have only ever ridden the lower portion, and from what it sounds like a big bike would be a blast to take down... but not up! :)

The best way to do laps on whoops is to climb (on your bike) the forest service road that parallels the trail. It is a mellow climb and can be done on a big bike, raise yer seat. Do not use road 310 to shuttle, it crosses and conflicts with a few different trails, other riders would not be pleased to have there ride disrupted by a car turning around at a major trail intersection.
If you must shuttle, wait until Swampy Snowpark trails are clear, and ride from there.
Finally, Whoops is a very pedally and flowy trail, and the best bike is one that is quick and nimble, not a bike huck bike or DH thrasher. Have fun out there

Regarding taking a big bike, it is WAY more fun & fast on a smaller bike, even a hardtail jump bike. I tried taking my 40lb 8" travel bike down one day, it was a lot of work keeping speed because of all the pedaling, which made it harder to backside the jumps, was load more fun & faster on my 6" travel trail bike, which weighs 31lbs.

Now, regarding the work done there, simply awsome!! My only comment would be to make more jumps!!, but also some quads (double-doubles) so you could either manual through, or double jump.

Oh, & one other thing, my wife found a drivers license, bank card & a forest service guide ID there on Saturday. If you, or anyone else knows a guy named Jeremiah Robert Mattson, let him know we have his belongings. He can contact me at hucked2bend@yahoo.com.

    Cheers,
    Stu

    Thanks for the input.
The goal is to create features with rhythm and flow for everyone, from butt on the seat beginners, to race pace rippers.
The jumps you describe are great whoops features, roll through at a medium speed, manual and suck it up at fast speed, and jump to a backside transition at a very fast speed.
Another goal is to add more banked turns and rollers to create more opportunity for pumping the trail for speed.

Great work out there on lower Whoops! Can't say enough about the great work you guys are doing. Whoops is swoopy, fun and smooth. What more could you ask for? Keep up the good work.
