Riding in Bend Aug 4-8 Where
Hello. I see this question nearly duplicates others in this forum, so hoping you Bend riders are willing to answer twice. I'll have one long day to ride in Bend. Traveling with my family to Sun River. I'm advanced for Illinois, if that makes sense, my brother and his wife strong intermediates. We're looking for basically one location that offers the best in the area -- fun trails, some challenges, your primo scenery and surroundings. I hear lower Phil's is too dusty to really enjoy in August, higher elevations in Cascades more recommended. Is that right? What's your pick? Dry-conditions semi-slick tires work? Does higher elevation equal cold temps? I found Cog Wild tours on the web, do people like this service? Thanks much. I'll check back here, or e-mails directly to me at dgeorge@tribune.com much appreciated.

re: Riding in Bend Aug 4-8 Where
I highly recommend Cog Wild, they will get you to the best riding in town. In August, you could probably get a shuttle from them & ride from Mt Bachelor, all the way to town via Flagline Access, across Happy valley to Mrazek, or any other routes, all will satisfy, as you will be on singletrack the whole time. Riding time from the top, with stops will take about 4-5 hrs. Of course, you should end your ride at one of the local watering holes ; )
Cheers,
Stu
