Flagline Route
With flagline opening in just a couple weeks I'm getting excited to ride it (as I never have before) but was wondering what is the most popular? I want to start as Dutchman, but beyond that I have no clue. What is the best route to take?

re: Flagline Route
The classic route, which is one of my all-time favorites is up the North Fork to Happy Valley, then Metolius-Windigo to Flagline, and then Flagline to Swampy Shelter. Not sure how much snow there is on the highest sections of trail, or how deep the creek crossing will be. Get a map at a local shop, or the new version of John Zilly's "Kissing the Trail - Oregon" for more specific info.

re: Flagline Route
Dave is right on. The climb up through the meadows from North Fork and around Metolius Windigo is hands down the classic of classic mtn bike rides in the area.
Don't be fooled by thinkin' you're going downhill from Dutchman. Its a grimper up to the Flagline saddle, but its also a nice section of trail, just doesn't have the views that NF/M-W route has.- Posted By:
