On Saturday 5/15, both upper Ben’s and Phil’s were closed and riders had to take the re-route. Was this a mistake? Or are they now closed 7 days a week?
Also, I echoed a question I posted on a COTA IG post directly to the Deschutes County Forest Service asking about the discrepancy in which trees have been cut around Pinedrops and Lower Whoops (Orange, Blue, no paint), and no response yet. Are they trying to keep all eyes away while they cut to their heart’s content?
Thanks for reaching out. The FS and the logging/thinning contractors won’t be taking down those trail barricades for weekend access, and for everyone's safety, please don’t move them or breach them.
Out of respect for the process, and our access!, everyone needs to be good trail citizens.
While inconvenient, hopefully trail users (riders/hikers) can access Whoops and Pine Drops from Skyliners Trail. This might be a great time to explore the new trail options in Sunriver, Madras, and Prineville.
