Community Engagement Committee

The goal of the Community Engagement Committee is to design and implement creative, cost-effective marketing strategies that build awareness of COTA’s activities and impact. The committee also develops and implements strategies to widen COTA's reach in the community.
Meetings: 3:30-4:30pm every other Monday, in person at The Commons
Time Commitment: 5+ hours/month

The Development Committee builds relationships with major donors through information sharing, calls, meetings, rides, and social events.

Executive Committee

This committee is composed of the board officers. It considers a variety of items that are elevated to it from staff, giving staff direction and determining whether those items require full board consideration.
Meetings: President and VP meet with the ED every other Wednesday from 1-2pm, typically in person; other officers are optional, but welcome to attend. Committee business is often conducted via email.

The Grants Committee identifies projects needing grant funding and grants that are good candidates for us, matches projects to specific grants, and writes and submits the grant applications.
Meetings: Virtual meetings once a month with date selected based on members’ availability, usually 3-4:30pm

The Governance Committee is chaired by the Board Secretary. It manages the annual board election cycle (April-June) and periodically assesses and updates governance documents such as COTA’s bylaws and policies.

The Trail Planning Committee plans future trail networks including engaging with land managers, doing field walks to determine propose and flag new trail alignments, and supporting NEPA review processes.

Women of COTA is centered on bringing women together in a supportive environment to learn about COTA and the trail building/maintenance process while biking our local trails. You do not need to be a COTA member to attend our events. What's a Ride & Work? Basically we ride as a group, stopping to trim bushes and small trees (aka brushing) to improve sight lines while learning more about COTA and trail work. All ability levels welcomed and no one is left behind!
