Sisters Chapter
Partnership:
Sisters COTA is dedicated to cooperation with land managers, and property owners in the areas where they are involved in trail work. Unique cooperation, and communication is critical between Sisters COTA, and Sisters Trail Alliance. With existing trails, and new trail proposals, Sisters COTA intends to enhance the community through development and advocacy of sustainable mountain bike trails.
Goals:
Sisters COTA is driven by the COTA mission. Our goals for the greater Sisters area are to incorporate many existing non-maintained trail systems in the Sisters area, and bring vitality and sustainability to trails that are lacking consistent maintenance. Some of these trails include Cache Mountain, and Hoodoo to Suttle lake, as well as Green Ridge, and Trail 99.
Beyond existing trails, Sisters COTA plans to incorporate long term cross country MTB trail development systems. New ‘flow’ style trail developments will be a high priority for our areas which will compliment the expansive terrain surrounding the Sisters area. Sisters COTA adopts the overall vision of COTA, and follows the path which has been set forth by its founders.
Sisters COTA is driven by its volunteer base, and we intend for our volunteers to be energized and empowered.
Meetings:
Sisters COTA general meetings are held the second Thursday of odd numbered months. Meetings are located at Blazin Saddles bike shop in Sisters at 6:00pm. Our meetings will be covering trail plans, work parties, training, and fundraising.
Work Events:
The work event schedule will be posted on the COTA Calendar. Sign up on COTA's Meetup page to get email notifications of trail work events, movie nights & more here.
The meeting place will be Sisters Elementary School, 611 East Cascade Avenue, Sisters, OR 97759. We will carpool to the work site from there.
COTA will provide food and refreshments after the event.
