Summertime means trail construction, trail maintenance and often concurrent USFS logging operations on/near the trails. That means a revolving door of 'what’s open?’ and ‘darn, it’s closed’ for trails as efforts shift. Here’s where we are as of June 16th:
Bend area:
- Storm King (both lower and upper) open
- Grand Slam open
- Tyler’s Traverse closed (the lower section from log 'gate' below Larsen's intersection) for logging & masticating - where wood debris can be thrown hundreds of feet in any direction
- Catch & Release closed right up against Tyler’s, on same closure schedule as Tyler’s
Crook County/Prineville area:
- Cougar Creek AND Scotty Trails in the Ochocos closed while Dirt Mechanics completes heavy equipment work on these heritage trails
